How it started
I opened this shop in 2001, in a small unit with two display cases and a workbench in the back room. I had no business plan and no investors. I had a jeweller's loupe, a set of pliers that belonged to my mother, and the conviction that a piece of jewelry is worth something because of who wears it, not because of what it costs.
Twenty-five years later, the workbench is still in the back room.
What I have always believed
That beautiful jewelry belongs in everyday life, not locked in a drawer waiting for an occasion that never quite comes.
I have lost count of the women who told me they were keeping a necklace “for later”. Later rarely arrives. The pieces that mattered in this shop are the ones that got worn — to the school run, to the hospital waiting room, to an ordinary Tuesday.
What I made
Rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets. Vine work in gold, opals and coloured stones, freshwater pearls, pieces built to be handled rather than admired from a distance.
Everything was chosen or finished by hand, one piece at a time. Nothing in these cases was ever ordered by the thousand.
Why I am closing
Because it is time. My hands are not what they were, and a shop like this cannot be run at half speed. I would rather close it properly, while it is still mine, than let it fade.
What happens to what is left
There is still a good deal in these cases. I do not want to sell it off to a wholesaler by the kilo, and I do not want to put it in a box in the attic.
So I am giving it away. Every piece that is left is free — you pay only the shipping.
That is the whole offer. There is no catch, no minimum order, no subscription. The shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay anything, and it is the only thing you will be charged.
When a piece is gone, it is gone. There is no restock, because there is no more workshop to restock it from.
What I promise you
I tell you exactly what each piece is made of. Delivery is tracked, with a number sent to you by email. If something arrives damaged or is not what you expected, you have thirty days and I will make it right.
If you have a question, write to me at hello@rosalindsjewels.com. Someone answers within a day.
